The vision

“All children are artists. The problem is how to remain an artist once you grow up” - Picasso

The brain favors predictability over risk. In life, that often translates into ladders. College comes after high school. The job after college. The promotion at the job. The ladder offers predictability. The problem is that the future is built by risk-takers and nowhere in that ladder, is risk-taking encouraged

The ladder needs room for risk

It needs a LeapYear

1 year to go bet on yourself

1 year to see what you are capable of

So that’s what we’ve created

The Mission

Empower smart builders to take more risk in their careers

When that happens, great things occur

LeapYear Today

Like anything great, think big but start small. We are starting small, funding a few teams a year with small checks

This enables us to get started, learn quickly, & find product market fit

LeapYear Tomorrow

With time, we’d like to scale to further chase our mission

However, building great communities takes patience, if you rush you kill it

So we will scale gradually & ensure any growth makes our community better

LeapYear In-Person

Virtual enables us to reach people where they are. It is powerful

In-Person enables us to double-down on community. It makes community stronger

With time, we hope to complement LeapYear with more in-person support but we are starting with a remote-focus

Long-Term Thinking

Critical to our success is patience & proper execution

Day 1, we are focused on building a small community of incredible builders

It will be small but we believe in compound interest. Small things grow

We believe if we execute effectively over 10-20 years, the results will speak for themselves

We aren’t for everyone but if this is interesting to you, talk to us
